General Motors (GM.US) is extending the suspension of operations at its Detroit electric vehicle plant until the 13th of next month to adjust production with current market demand. The plant, which produces models like the Chevrolet Silverado EV and Hummer EV, has been idle since last Monday and had its production already reduced by about 50% in January. This move comes as the industry sees a shift towards fuel-powered trucks and SUVs, with GM planning to boost heavy truck production at another Michigan plant starting in June.
