ME News Report, April 5th (UTC+8), recently, a neural network language model project called JAM was showcased. Its unique feature is the ability to run directly on existing 8-bit Atari 400/800/XL/XE computers with a history of about 50 years. The implementation is entirely written in 6502 assembly language, using only integer calculations for inference, without support for floating-point operations, no hardware multiplier, and no emulator tricks. The model is designed to operate in an environment with a 1.79 MHz clock speed and memory ranging from 4 KB to 80 KB. (Source: InFoQ)
