Iran will accept transit fees on oil tankers paid specifically in Bitcoin...

Hamid Hosseini, spokesperson for the Iranian Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Exporters Union, told the Financial Times that each oil tanker must send an email to the authorities regarding its cargo, after which Iran will inform it of the fees to be paid in digital currencies. He explained that the fees amount to one dollar per barrel of oil, adding that empty tankers can pass freely. Hosseini also said: "Once the email is received and Iran completes its assessment, the ships are given a few seconds to pay in Bitcoin, ensuring they cannot be tracked or seized due to sanctions."

Comment: Bitcoin is indeed resistant to seizure because of its decentralized properties, but it can be easily traced if specific techniques are not used to make that difficult...
