U.S. "First Lady" rarely speaks out: denies any connection to Epstein, hints at taking legal action
Mars Finance News, April 10, according to Bloomberg. On Thursday local time, U.S. First Lady Melania Trump made a rare appearance at the White House and, in a direct response to rumors circulating on social media linking her to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, dismissed the claims as “false defamation.” Melania clearly denied any relationship with Epstein or his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, saying she only had “occasional email exchanges” with Maxwell, and emphasized, “I am not a victim of Epstein.” She also hinted that she would take legal action, saying, “My lawyer and I have successfully rebutted these baseless lies, and I will continue, without hesitation, to defend my reputation.” The five-minute statement drew widespread attention for two reasons: first, Melania speaks publicly extremely rarely; second, as the war in Iran continued to heat up, the Epstein-related topic had gradually faded from public view, and this statement pushed the politically sensitive issue—one that has troubled the White House for months—back into the spotlight. In her statement, Melania called on Congress to hold hearings so that survivors of Epstein’s crimes could testify publicly under oath. Robert Garcia, a senior Democratic member of the House Oversight Committee, immediately expressed support and urged the committee chair to “arrange” a hearing “immediately.”
