Apple Inc. announces reduction of commission rates for the Chinese App Store
Today (the 13th), Apple, the parent of Apple Inc., announced a reduction in commission rates. The details are as follows: Based on communication with China’s regulatory authorities, Apple will make adjustments to the App Store in China. Starting March 15, 2026, the commission rates for iOS and iPadOS applicable to the App Store in mainland China will be adjusted. The standard commission rate for in-app purchases and paid apps on the Apple App Store will be reduced from the current 30% to 25%. The commission rate for eligible Apple App in-app purchases under the App Store Small Business Program and the Mini Apps Partner Program, as well as the commission rate for auto-renewing subscriptions after the first year, will be reduced from the current 15% to 12%. Developers will not need to sign new terms in advance to enjoy these adjusted commission rates starting March 15. We are committed to making iOS and iPadOS the best app ecosystem and a major business opportunity for developers in China. We pledge to maintain fair and transparent terms for all developers, and to always offer App Store rates for developers distributing apps in China that are no higher than the overall rate levels in other markets.
