On the 7th, during the first session of the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam, a vote was held, and Nguyen Xuan Phuc, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Minister of the Central Organization Department, was elected as the Prime Minister of Vietnam, with a term from 2026 to 2031.
That day, the Vietnamese National Assembly passed a resolution via electronic voting to appoint Nguyen Xuan Phuc as the new Prime Minister of Vietnam.
The voting results showed that all 495 attending representatives voted in favor.
Nguyen Xuan Phuc then took the oath of office.
In his inaugural speech, Nguyen Xuan Phuc said he would “determine the economy with the highest resolve, achieve high-speed and sustainable growth,” and pledged to work with the government, ministries, and localities to unite as one, leading the country into a new stage of breakthrough development, prosperity, and happiness.
