The FBI just pulled deleted Signal messages off an iPhone.


Although Signal’s encryption is intact the flaw is that iOS stores notification previews in a separate database the second you receive a message, and that database doesn’t clear (for 30 days) even if you delete the message.
To turn it off: Settings → Notifications → Show Previews → Never.
That kills the preview. Without previews nothing is stored.
Your phone is logging everything happening on it in places you’ve never thought to look.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
This applies to all apps. Remove notification previews to stay secure!
