Reports say Samsung secures an order for 20 million iPhone Fold screens from Apple, starting mass production in May.
Tech Home, March 13 – South Korean media ajunews published a blog post yesterday (March 12), reporting that in Apple’s supply chain, Samsung’s dominance is strengthening unprecedentedly, having secured up to 20 million panels for Apple’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Fold, and is expected to begin mass production in May 2026.
According to the blog post cited by Tech Home, Samsung is presenting a “one-stop” situation across Apple’s high-end and low-end product lines, not only supplying panels for entry-level models like the iPhone 17e but also securing massive screen orders for Apple’s first foldable-screen phone.

Supply chain sources say that initial orders for the Apple iPhone Fold were 13 million units, later increased to 15 million units, with the latest data showing an additional increase to 20 million units, approximately a 20% growth.
To handle the huge Apple orders, Samsung Display is urgently restructuring its production lines. The company is currently converting its core production line at the Cheonan factory in South Chungcheong Province into a dedicated line for iPhone and foldable screens, fully preparing for the peak mass production in the second half of the year.
Additionally, Samsung is accelerating the utilization of capacity on its A3 dedicated Apple line and advancing preparations for the production of the 8.6th-generation OLED line. Industry insiders point out that Samsung Display is using this large order as a springboard to preemptively layout the future OLED market for iPads and MacBooks.
