Sinopec Petrochemical Engineering: Signs $1.09B EPC Contract

Sinopec Refining & Chemical Engineering Announcement: The company has signed a lump-sum EPC general contracting contract for the Kazakhstan Butadiene and Rubber Project with Kazakhstan Diene Limited Liability Company. The main scope of the contract includes engineering design, procurement, and construction of relevant process units, public utilities, and auxiliary facilities. The contract value is approximately $1.093 billion, which will be recorded as the company’s uncompleted contract amount. The project is located in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, and the project owner is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Kazakhstan Samruk-Kazyna Fund. The project focuses on the production of butadiene rubber, and upon completion, the annual rubber production capacity will reach 300,000 tons.
