“China’s amazement to me is never just skyscraper infrastructure

But this sense of security and pride engraved in everyone’s heart”

What exactly made him so emotional?

According to “Koolah,” he took his dad and uncles back to their hometown for family visits and tourism, but when taking a taxi at Shenzhen airport, because he was busy settling the elders and luggage, he left the most important bag (with the passport inside) on the roadside. The elders were all devastated: in their understanding, losing something means losing everything; to them, it’s not just about losing an item, but falling into a “desperate situation” in a foreign land. “Koolah” didn’t bother to explain, soothing the elders’ emotions while immediately running back.

“Koolah” first contacted two middle-aged master drivers who had previously picked them up. The bag wasn’t in their car, but their tone was surprisingly calm: “Young man, you can’t lose things in China. It’s definitely at the original spot or has been found and handed over to the police. You go back and look carefully, you’ll find it.”

Then, “Koolah” quickly took a taxi back to the airport. The driver was a young man in his early twenties from another province. After hearing his story, he firmly said: “Bro, don’t worry, you’ll definitely find it. First, report to the police; they’ll help check the surveillance. Now, China is full of cameras, no one will take it, and no one dares to take it! It’s definitely waiting for you at the original place.” “Koolah” said, this tone was not just simple reassurance, but a deep-seated trust in the society he’s in.

However, when approaching the airport, the taxi had a minor collision with another car. The driver immediately negotiated with the traffic police: “Officer, I can handle this accident later, but can you help us get them into the airport to find the bag? They just returned from abroad, and the bag has a passport. If lost, they’ll go crazy. Can you let them in first?” The traffic police on scene agreed in unison: “Don’t worry, we’ll handle this. The bag will definitely be found. In Shenzhen, you can’t lose it.”

While waiting for the accident to be processed, “Koolah” called the lost-and-found department at the airport. After verification, the bag was indeed there, and airport staff said they had stored it properly immediately after finding it.

“Koolah” sighed: “From the 50-year-old local master driver, to the 20-year-old young man from another province, to the traffic police officers—they come from different ages and backgrounds, but share a kind of ‘unanimous’ confidence. That pride in social security is a collective ‘step’ that unites everyone.”
