According to Shen City Transportation (301091), recently, Shen City Transportation Technology Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Shen City Transportation”) took the lead, jointly establishing the “Shenzhen Low-Altitude Intelligent Traffic Operation System Key Laboratory” with Sun Yat-sen University·Shenzhen and the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (Shenzhen), which has officially been approved and unveiled.

It is understood that as the first approved key laboratory in Shenzhen’s low-altitude economy sector, this laboratory is dedicated to breaking through the bottlenecks of operational efficiency and safety resilience in low-altitude traffic under large-scale flight conditions, building an all-link intelligent management and safety assurance system for low-altitude flight. It is an important part of Shen City Transportation’s research platform system, using cutting-edge technology to develop an integrated smart air-ground transportation system focused on low-altitude and autonomous driving, creating an innovative support point for Shenzhen to establish a national benchmark for low-altitude economic development, and supporting Shenzhen in leading a new pattern in the low-altitude industry.

Technological innovation is Shenzhen’s city gene, and the key laboratories are the “hardcore engines” of this innovative city. As a core component of Shenzhen’s science and technology innovation system, Shenzhen’s key laboratories focus on national strategic deployment and city industry needs, with the core mission of “fundamental research foundation, application breakthroughs, and results transformation empowerment.” They have built a multi-level innovation network covering basic and applied research, continuously injecting technological strength into Shenzhen’s goal of creating a modern industrial system with global competitiveness and cultivating new productive forces.

The low-altitude laboratory relies on the nation’s first city-level low-altitude digital management service platform, complemented by testing grounds such as the Pingshan open space integrated test site and the Dapeng New District drone testing base. Its core goal is to improve the operational efficiency and safety resilience of low-altitude traffic systems under large-scale flight conditions. The research focuses on five directions: comprehensive digital infrastructure, efficient dispatching services, low-altitude conflict resolution, integrated perception and control, and virtual-real fusion verification. It develops technical systems, core systems, and new equipment in areas such as digital infrastructure, flight regulation, and safety management, ultimately achieving intelligent, efficient, and safe operation of low-altitude traffic systems. This hardcore technology supports the coordinated upgrade of the entire low-altitude industry chain and provides a solid foundation for Shenzhen to cultivate a trillion-yuan-level new productive force in the low-altitude economy.
