Mars Finance News, April 13 — According to the Financial Times, sources familiar with the matter revealed that the UK will not participate in the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Last night, Trump claimed that after the failure of U.S.-Iran peace negotiations to make progress, the U.S. Navy will blockade this vital waterway. The U.S. will deploy more mine-sweeping boats to the Strait of Hormuz. NATO also “wants to help clear the strait,” and the UK and other countries are also dispatching mine-sweeping ships. A UK government spokesperson stated: “We continue to support freedom of navigation and the open access to the Strait of Hormuz, which is crucial for supporting the global economy and alleviating domestic living costs. There must be no tolls for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. We are urgently working with France and other partners to form a broad coalition to protect freedom of navigation.”
