So I've been digging through the market looking for the next crypto to hit $1, and honestly, there are some interesting candidates worth paying attention to right now. You know how hitting that psychological $1 barrier feels like a big deal? It's not just about the price—it's about momentum and what it signals for a project.

I narrowed things down by looking at coins that have never actually traded above $1 yet, are currently trading above $0.01 (to filter out the obvious pump-and-dumps), and belong to the top 500 projects by market cap. After going through the data, I found four that could realistically make that jump: Dogecoin, Kaspa, Stellar, and Hedera Hashgraph.

Let's start with Dogecoin. It's the OG meme coin, and people still care about it. Back in 2021, it almost got there—hit $0.73 at peak euphoria. Right now it's sitting around $0.09, which means it needs roughly a 1,010% move to hit $1. If that happens, we're looking at a market cap around $168.8 billion, which would make it the third-largest crypto by market value. With Bitcoin halving cycles historically pushing altcoins higher, and the overall meme coin momentum, it's not impossible for the next crypto to hit $1 to be DOGE.

Then there's Kaspa. This one uses a blockDAG structure instead of traditional blockchain tech, which gives it some technical edge for scalability. It hit $0.21 last year, so it's already shown it can move. Currently trading around $0.03, it would need about a 2,793% jump to reach $1. The community around KAS is pretty solid, and the development team keeps shipping updates. For a next crypto to hit $1, Kaspa has the technical fundamentals backing it up.

Stellar is interesting because it's been around for a decade and actually has real-world use cases for cross-border payments. It came close to $1 in previous bull runs, hitting around $0.60-$0.70, but never quite got there. Now trading at $0.15, it needs roughly a 694% move. Some analysts think it might reach $0.24 by mid-2026, but honestly, if the broader market gets really bullish, the next crypto to hit $1 could very well be XLM. It's got the institutional backing and use case to support higher prices.

Hedera is the enterprise play—HBAR reached $0.57 back in 2021. Currently at $0.09, it needs a 980% move to hit $1. What's compelling here is the focus on real-world tokenization and enterprise adoption. As more institutions get into crypto and AI integration increases, Hedera's low fees and high throughput could become increasingly valuable. This is definitely in the conversation for the next crypto to hit $1.

Here's the thing though—all of these depend heavily on the broader crypto market. If Bitcoin and Ethereum are rallying, altcoins tend to follow. If we see a downturn, these targets become way harder to hit. But given the halving cycles and current market sentiment, at least one of these four could realistically make the $1 milestone. The real question isn't if it's possible, but which one gets there first.
DOGE-0.31%
KAS-2.31%
XLM-0.7%
HBAR-1.44%
