As of the week ending March 19, China’s methanol production was 2,074,815 tons, an increase of 53,680 tons compared to the previous week; the plant capacity utilization rate was 92.87%, up 2.65% week-on-week. This period saw new maintenance shutdowns, such as Inner Mongolia Baogang Qinghua; new production reduction facilities, such as Inner Mongolia Yigao; and the restoration of maintenance and reduction facilities, including China Coal, Shenhua Xilaifeng, Inner Mongolia Junzheng, Yunnan Pioneer, and a set of facilities in Hebei. Because the overall recovery volume this period exceeded the losses, production increased, and capacity utilization rate rose. The inventory of sample production enterprises in China is 485.4k tons, down 37.7k tons from the previous period, a 7.21% decrease week-on-week; the order backlog for sample enterprises is 279.3k tons, up 14k tons from the previous period, a 5.26% increase.
