U.S. Democratic House Armed Services Committee member Ro Khanna said in an NBC interview that Trump is “letting down the U.S. military” on the Iran issue, and that his remarks are detached from the actual situation. Khanna noted that earlier, Trump posted a message demanding that Iran “open the damn Strait of Hormuz,” or it would face escalation strikes. While Trump “used foul language and threatened war crimes,” U.S. military personnel are under fire, despite Trump repeatedly claiming that Iran’s military strength has been destroyed. Khanna said, “We must end this war now. A ceasefire is needed immediately.
