Recently, multiple consumers have posted online showing that some McDonald’s restaurants have started selling egg tarts. On March 19, McDonald’s China confirmed this news to Jiemian News, also stating that “a few McDonald’s restaurants are offering the new product for a limited time, please refer to the actual availability at the restaurant.” However, the brand did not respond to whether egg tarts are a long-term product or if they will be promoted at all locations.
