So Archer and Joby just went full legal warfare over the flying taxi market. Archer filed this countersuit claiming Joby has been secretly manufacturing in China for over a decade and basically smuggling aircraft parts into the US by labeling them as socks and hair clips to dodge tariffs. Pretty wild stuff. Joby's lawyers are saying it's all nonsense and blamed Archer's legal troubles for forcing their hand. The crazy timing? Both companies just got announced as part of new FAA eVTOL pilot programs the same day the lawsuit dropped. Manhattan flights, Texas regional routes, Florida cargo delivery - both are in on it. Archer wants Joby disqualified from everything though, arguing they're not actually American-made like they claim. Stock market didn't seem to care much - Archer up 4%, Joby up 5% on Monday. The flying taxi race is getting intense with all these federal programs pushing development forward. China ties in the supply chain are becoming a real competitive weapon apparently. Wonder how this actually plays out in court.
