CertiK Founder Gu Ronghui Invited to Attend PBW 2026: Global Crypto Regulation Diverges, Hong Kong and Brazil Become New Focus
ME News report, April 16 (UTC+8). Yesterday (April 15), during the 2026 Paris Blockchain Week (PBW), CertiK co-founder Gu Ronghui was invited to attend two roundtable forums, sharing his views on the current state of global crypto regulation and the direction of industry development. He noted that while global crypto regulation is gradually advancing, it is still highly fragmented. Policy differences across regions are clear, and some compliance provisions are not clear enough, creating challenges for corporate compliance.
Gu Ronghui said that global crypto regulation has entered a regionalized exploration stage, but regulatory bodies still have three core gaps in risk awareness, event detection, and enforcement response. He revealed that there was a project that suffered losses of tens of millions of dollars due to a hacker attack, but local regulators failed to notice it in time, reflecting insufficient awareness of on-chain and off-chain risks.
In terms of regional progress, Gu Ronghui mentioned that Hong Kong has issued its first batch of stablecoin licenses, Brazil plans to roll out a comprehensive compliance framework in October to accelerate the pace; meanwhile, regulatory policies in the UAE and Singapore have recently been moving toward tighter regulation. Looking ahead, he expects the proportion of on-chain finance to continue rising, and the industry needs to improve its security and compliance infrastructure in tandem. (Source: CertiK)
