CertiK Founder Gu Ronghui Invited to Attend PBW 2026: Global Crypto Regulation Diverges, Hong Kong and Brazil Become New Focuses
ME News Report, April 16 (UTC+8), yesterday (April 15), during the 2026 Paris Blockchain Week (PBW), CertiK Co-Founder Gu Ronghui was invited to participate in two roundtable forums to share views on the current state of global crypto regulation and industry development directions. He pointed out that although global crypto regulation is gradually advancing, it remains highly fragmented. Policy differences across regions are significant, and some compliance requirements are not clear enough, posing challenges for corporate compliance.
Gu Ronghui stated that global crypto regulation has entered a regional exploration phase, but regulatory agencies still have three major gaps in risk awareness, incident detection, and law enforcement response. He revealed that there was a project that suffered a hacker attack resulting in losses of tens of millions of dollars, but the local regulatory authorities failed to detect it in time, reflecting insufficient awareness of on-chain and off-chain risks.
Regarding regional progress, Gu Ronghui mentioned that Hong Kong has issued its first stablecoin license, Brazil plans to launch a comprehensive compliance framework in October, accelerating the pace; meanwhile, regulatory policies in the UAE and Singapore have recently become more stringent. Looking ahead, he expects the proportion of on-chain finance to continue increasing, and the industry needs to improve security and compliance infrastructure in tandem. (Source: CertiK)
