Just found out there are actually valuable bills still circulating that could be worth way more than face value. Like, I've probably had some of these in my wallet without knowing it. Apparently certain rare $2 bills from the 1928 series with red seals can fetch anywhere from $4 to $175 if they're circulated, and uncirculated ones go for thousands. The 1953 Red Seal notes are also collectible, worth $3-$6 in fine condition, but star notes jump to $15-$18. Even the 1976 Bicentennial bills with errors or unique serial numbers can be worth $5 to over $500. For $50 and $100 bills, older series like the 1934 are apparently the sweet spot. A 1966 Red Seal $100 bill in good condition could be worth $135-$169. The key thing is condition and whether they have those star notes or printing errors. Makes me want to actually check what's in my wallet now. Has anyone ever found valuable bills in circulation? Seems like a hidden treasure hunt.
