In the past, I used the mainnet just for the "authentic" experience, but whenever congestion hit, the gas fees were as high as tolls... Now it's basically: for daily interactions and small applications, I go to L2, using the mainnet as a settlement layer. Only when dealing with large amounts or contract upgrades do I grit my teeth and return to the mainnet once. The experience, frankly, depends on whether you're willing to spend a little more for "stability" and "predictability."
Recently, with a bunch of testnet incentives, everyone is guessing whether the mainnet will issue tokens or whether points can be exchanged. I'm actually more concerned about when it quietly changes bridge fees, withdrawal wait times, or transaction ordering rules. Anyway, I get into the habit of checking the update logs before each use, and if it’s not acceptable, I screenshot and archive it... After being betrayed once by a "version update," I’ve become more cautious.
