Chinese car manufacturer Geely and its subsidiary Belgee in Belarus now allow the purchase of cars using cryptocurrency. The dealership Tochka in Minsk has launched this service in collaboration with the platform WhiteBird, one of the first licensed crypto exchanges in Belarus. Customers can make online payments, and the cryptocurrency will be instantly converted to Belarusian rubles at a preferential exchange rate. The ask price and promotions for crypto users are completely equivalent to those paying in cash. Tochka expects about 10% of Geely and Belgee's car sales will be paid for with crypto. Belarus is becoming a leading country in the region in legalizing digital assets, after allowing cryptocurrency activities in the High-Tech Park (HTP) since 2018. Recently, Wildberries – a major retailer from Russia – has also partnered with WhiteBird to accept BTC, ETH, and USDT in Belarus.
