Indonesia temporarily bans Grok over pornographic images

PANews January 10 News, according to Zhitong Caijing, Indonesian authorities temporarily banned Elon Musk’s Grok chatbot on Saturday due to concerns that it might generate pornographic content. This is the first country to prohibit access to such AI tools. The move comes after governments and regulatory agencies across Europe and Asia condemned the pornographic content on the platform, and some agencies have already launched investigations. Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Mutiya Hafid, stated in a release: “The government believes that non-consensual deepfake behavior without permission seriously infringes on human rights, citizen dignity, and citizen safety in the digital space.” The department also summoned executives from X Corporation for discussions on this matter.
